La Notte che si sposta, Gianfranco FerroniTheTrembling Night
Italian artist Gianfranco Ferroni (1927-2001) never allowed himself to be filmed. With this film, his friend and collaborator Arialdo Ceribelli pays him tribute. An empty room that opens onto other empty rooms. Spaces in movement reflected in a mirror; mystical nooks and crannies in the dim light; triangles of light from Ferroni's TV sets in his studio to compose a recurring series of "real" tableaux, immobile and moving shadows; a moon entering and exiting as it wishes. "And who can say if Ferroni is absent from this place? He inhabits this space and this fire, this light, these objects, or rather he is himself the space and the objects."
