Deben Bhattacharya has spend his life on the road, recording music in dozens of countries, in hundreds of cities and villages and producing records of it all. He is neither a scientist nor a dilettante: just a man with a hunger for knowledge, a man of heightened sensibility, who cannot stay still. In the mid-80s, he accumulated some 800 hours of recordings, 16,000 photographs, made 23 films and published over a dozen books. The film centers on his return to his native land, Bangladesh and shuttles between memories and reality, North and South, anecdote and History, gradually revealing the extraordinary itinerary of this man, filled with faces, travels and music.
