La Lutte contre l'onchocercose au Tchad
Eradicated in certain countries, onchocerciasis affects more than 15 million people. In Chad, despite an intensive consciousness-raising campaign and treatment, the disease is still present and is in danger of spreading. Like Aids and TB, Onchocerciasis, or river blindness, claims a high number of victims. Infected persons are burden to the rest of the population. Beyond the problems of public health it represents, onchocerciasis also poses economic and social problems. Hence, the intensification of the battle against it must be maintained and important means provided to Operation "Onchocerciasis out of Chad."
