Half of the world's population lives on less than two dollars a day. This half "lives in vulnerability, fear, powerlessness and the incapacity to make its voice heard." In the face of this incapacity, seven directors decided to gather in ALTERdoc to use their means to initiate this series of short films about this hidden face of the earth. For them, allowing others to speak out is a way of breaking a criminal silence. Each film conveys the quality of an encounter, their accessibility and capacity to listen and engage in a dialogue. Films like windows onto this hidden face of the world. Here are the first films of a future series, in which directors, producers and broadcasters are invited to join them in order to increase its scope.
