L'Aventure Pat Andrea

Pat Andrea's painting is particularly cinematographic, in that it relates a multitude of stories in picture form. The film relates the genesis of a painting from the conception of the first sketches to the moment it leaves the studio for a major art fair in Amsterdam. The painter himself started up the camera each day, installed directly in front of the canvas. The work of elaborating the painting and the painter's mental efforts are portrayed live. During the film, Pat Andrea also speaks of his past as a young painter and about the social constraints placed on the artist. Born in Holland, he has lived in Greece and Argentina, and has now set up his studio in France.
