L'Affaire Clearstream racontée à un ouvrier de Daewo
In his previous film, Les Dissimulateurs, Denis Robert conducted an inquiry into Clearstream, the multinational clearinghouse based in Luxembourg. He exposed a shadowy system specializing in the art of covering up transactions and transfers. After this film, the heads of Clearstream was forced to resign, but the silence in the world of international finance continued to reign. Why? Because there are too many of us who believe that money crossing the border unchecked is virtual, without any real effect on the concrete economy. In this new film, Denis Robert sets out to show how, on the contrary, financial globalization affects the lives of employees, notably those at Daewoo, in the Lorraine. Money that vanishes is always taken from somewhere.
