Jeff Koons

Jeff Koons is probably the most famous and most controversial of living artists. If the major public institutions and American collectors have long since declared him the heir to Warhol, many Europeans continue to consider him a cynical show-off. Combining the positive spirit of the great entrepreneurs, pop freedom and perfectionism worthy of the Old Masters, Koon has undeniably succeeded in popularizing the strategies of the avant-garde. This film shows how he has made over the artist's role as a man of communications, and the place his works occupy in the life of several collectors has allowed him to fulfill his dreams. Through his artistic activities, his comments and those of some friends and collaborators, this world of seduction and reflections also affords a glimpse of shadow zones and opaqueness.
