Europe, Asia, the Americas - the agricultural world is facing its biggest crisis in years. As the rural infrastructure that helped build the Canadian identity and nation erodes, we discover the roots of rural economics, politics, art and myth that once stitched communities together over a vast landscape. Collectively, immigrants from Europe to the new world built the farming communities - divided, the communities now fall. The artifacts of rural culture unearthed lead us to ask import questions of ourselves as global citizens and increasingly as city dwellers, cut off from the life beyond the city boundaries.
