Ima Vav

Mother V

Hana Vazana, a religious woman in her 60s, leaves a southern small town to visit her son Menahem, who is locked up in solitary confinement by the Mediterranean, charged with revealing state secrets. She sets out, despite family opposition, to bring her son to apologize his father who is lying in intensive care. Along the way, fraught with obstacles, she joins up with a young Bedouin who helps her learn the truth about her son, about herself, and to achieve independence for the first time in her life.
