Ich hiess Sabina SpielreinMy Name Was Sabina Spielrein
In 1977 a surprising discovery was made in a cellar in Geneva. The letters and diaries of an unknown Russian woman named Sabina Spielrein were found. Among them a lengthy correspondence with two of the most influential men in the early history of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud and Carl Gustav Jung. The relationship between Freud, Jung and Sabina Spielrein reveals a dramatic story about love and jealousy, distrust and disappointment behind the academic façade. Sabina Spielrein emerges from the shadows as an important contributor to the history of psychoanalysis. The film reveals the important events in her life. It interweaves old newsreels, documents and photographs, to illustrate a world steeped in revolution, scientific discoveries, political upheaval and war.
