Like every summer, the packing plant at Buonacasa Fruits is open for business. For meager pay, the seasonal workers sort and package the peaches in the heat and lack of privacy. As the days pass, the working conditions deteriorate. Buonacasa, the boss, neglects to repair the truck's breaks despite the complaints of the driver, Patrick. Rochereau, the foreman, makes advances to newcomer Sandrine, to whom Patrick is attracted. Only Kissa stands up to them, so much so that she is suspected of being Rochereau's mistress. The bonus system created by Rochereau turns them against one another. The mood is volatile. Kissa becomes friends with Sandrine and looks out for her. But she is the one who will trigger the first workers' strike.
