Francisca (...De qué lado estás ?)

Francisca (...which side are you on?)

In 1971, Helmuth Busch attempts to flee from his past as a Stasi spy. He wants to go underground in Mexico, but the Mexican secret service recognizes him and blackmails him. To avoid extradition, Helmuth agrees to observe a group of political students. As Bruno Müller, he becomes professor of history at the University of Mexico City. Bruno performs his unpleasant mission but falls in love with a student, Adela. This passionate love hurls Bruno into a deep conflict. Francisca (which is not the name of a woman but of a pistol) is a love story whose main figures were also among those who shaped the history of the 1970s in Mexico; at a time when the ideals of justice and social change influenced a whole generation. It is an unusual and gripping look at the student movement and at Mexico.
