Elektra, fragments d'une mise en scène
Early in 2002, Stéphane Braunschwieg, director of the Strasbourg National Theatre, settled into the Rhine Opera for several weeks to stage Richard Strauss's opera, Electra. This film follows the rehearsals of the production up till the dress rehearsal. Whether it is the directions given to the cast or the work of various technicians (lighting, costumes, scenography), this film gradually reveals the work and effort that went into the final production. As it follows the creative approach of the director, the film also tries to facilitate our appreciation of an unusually complex opera.
