A portrait of a nation under control, this metaphorically titled film looks at the tortuous course and political cynicism of Chile. The director seeks to take apart the workings of the Chilean nation: in the form of an examination of conscience, he reveals the balance of power and the contradictions of this democracy marked by a repressed history and ideological ambiguities. He describes the abuses of power, which today lies in the hands of former revolutionaries who have sworn allegiance to their past enemies.
