Charlie Chaplin - The Forgotten Years
When Charles Chaplin was forced to leave the USA in 1952, he found a haven in Switzerland. He settled in a small village on Lake Geneva where he lived with his family until his death in 1977. In his autobiography, written from his new home, he calls these years the happiest of his life. This film affords a rare look at his family life and his love of the circus. It also focuses for the first time on his later films and projects and testifies to Chaplin's prolific talents as a composer. In addition, the film will astonish audiences by revealing Swiss Intelligence files on Charles Chaplin. During his lifetime, Chaplin fortunately never knew that for many years he was under the surveillance of Swiss Intelligence officers…
