Bola de Nieve
Cuban, black, santero, homosexual, pro-revolutionary and, above all, musician, Bola de Nieve is one of the Latin American legends of the 20th century. Ignacio Villa, his real name, also enjoyed great success in Europe, Asia and the United States. How was this man who, using just the piano and his mango-monger voice, could made Edith Piaf, Andrés Segovia, Pablo Neruda, Paul Robeson, Josephine Baker, Alejo Carpentier, Nicolás Guillén or Pedro Almodóvar tremble with emotion? Bola de Nieve, though a tormented man, used to say: "I'm a sad person but my songs are cheerful". The man and his times are the subject of this documentary which follows the twisting itinerary of this unique personality, virtually unknown except from those who loved him.
