Avdei HashemSlaves of the Lord
Passover is coming and so is Tamar's Bat-Mitzvah, the day she will become responsible for her deeds. Tamar lives in a religious village and is preparing for her speech with her teacher, Esther, when she learns about the connection of external cleansing for the Passover holiday, and internal purification. Tamar constantly searches for answers in the holy books and concludes that she is impure and so is everything she touches. She tries to clean everything and not to touch anything. After the ceremonial check for bread before Passover, Tamar gets up to ensure nothing was left behind. In a moment of despair she even scatters breadcrumbs all over, but Tamar can't bare being sinful. She succumbs to her fear, runs to the ritual bath and goes in for a final dip.
