The Old Soldier's Ballad
In November 1999, in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, World War II Veterans held their 11th National Meeting. During the event, Miguel Pereira, a telegraph operator for the Brazilian Expeditionary Force (FEB), explained why he decided to stay in Italy after the war.
