Un rêve libanais
This is the story of Samir Farachat, a successful Lebanese businessman who thrived and prospered as long as the Lebanese war and the chaos it engendered continued. "Wherever there's war, the law becomes dormant and you can make money, lots of money". And that's just what he did, taking advantage of the "Lebanese fiasco" -the South Lebanese Army (S.L.A.) fighting against Hizbullah, and Hizbullah fighting against the Israeli Forces. Hundreds of soldiers and thousands of Lebanese civilians were killed in this endless conflict. But for Samir Farachat, the chaos of war was fertile ground for excellent business of all kinds. A friend of UN soldiers, an active supporter of the S.L.A. and entertaining close relationships with the Israelis, Samir was well known in the business and military worlds alike. As long as the war went on, his business thrived. But the day Israel announced a unilateral withdrawal from Lebanon, the delicate equilibrium Samir had established was thrown off balance. Samir is determined to protect his property, family and his life, but he now finds himself on the Israeli side of the new border while the Hizbullah takes his wife, located in Nakura, Lebanon, into custody...
