Torniamo a CasaLet's Go Home
Carla and Riccardo are an ordinary couple who desperately want a child. They end up adopting Andrei, a seven-year-old Romanian who had been entrusted by his natural mother to a nun who brought him to Italy. But Andrei is a problem child with an uncertain past. Try as they may to love the child and earn his love in return, their efforts come to nothing. They must cope with his fears, his hostile nature, his difficulty in adapting at school. The situation gets worst when Carla becomes pregnant—Andrei's uneasiness and fears quickly grow. Given the situation, Carla and Riccardo make the painful decision of taking Andrei back to Romania so that he can meet his natural parents and learn the reasons for his ill-being. If they find Andrei's mother—which is Carla's desire—the boy can remain with her and find a solution to his problems. But Carla isn't ready to deal with the harsh realities of illegal adoption, and her relationship with Riccardo suffers as a result.
