Tong Tana - Det Förlorade Paradiset
In 1989, the original film covered Bruno Manser one man's unstoppable fight against the ecological devastation of Borneo's rain forest homeland of one of the last nomadic tribes on earth, the Penans. This film opens with Manser, back in Switzerland for ten years, where he has continued to raise the public awareness of the Penans plight. Bruno returned to Borneo after an urgent call of the Penan-chief and we follow him back to the jungles where another large area of the forest has been destroyed, today, barely 10% survives ! For ten years, forestry companies have felled a jungle area the size of a soccer field every minute, 24 hours a day, and the logging still goes on. This is a journey back to old friends who are fighting for their existence but also a film about a man who is travelling back, retracing his own dreams. Once again, Bruno's life is going to change dramatically. Since May 2000 he has been missing, no one knows what has happened to him.
