Orozco, The Embalmer
Santafe de Bogota in Colombia. This place is called "The Magazine", one of the most insecure areas in the world. There are a lot of funeral parlors around the forensic institute and a large community of homeless. A number of dead appear almost everyday. They are carried to the forensic institute and brought to a funeral parlor. Orozco is the oldest embalmer of this place where he is working since forty years. He survived so called "La Violencia", the age of internal disturbances in the 50's. He embalms five to ten bodies a day. He has embalmed about 50 000 bodies. His job looks like a kind of ceremony, it is a prayer. This is a story about the last two years of an old embalmer, a story of violence, dignity and love.
