In a house by the side of the road that also operates as a taverna for passer-by, lives a couple whose life is dull and uneventful. One day a hawker persuades the woman to buy tablecloths for her taverna on credit. From that moment on the tablecloths dominate her life as a means of escape from mundane reality. Until one night, unable to do anything about it, she watches them being destroyed in the frenzied revelry of a wedding reception. But nothing in her life will remain the same any more. Even with ruined tablecoths she is determined that this "journey" is not over...
