Koffi's taximan fiancée, Aicha, no longer wants him, ever since Leonce, a white Peace Corps volunteer, has been dating her. It's not that Aicha has suddenly stopped loving Koffi, but she's afraid of sharing a poor taximan's existence, whereas Leonce is painting an enticing picture of a bright future. Koffi confides in Baba Woulou who passes himself off as Koffi's father and goes to see Aicha's parents to plead his case. During his visit, he finds Aicha's father beating his wife. They've been fighting over the white man's money, which they are sharing with Aicha. Koffi resigns himself to losing Aicha. Meanwhile, Aicha is waiting for the plane ticket to France which Leonce has promised her. Actually, Leonce has never left the country. He's gone to the airport to welcome another woman from France, who is white and pregnant with his child...
