Just hours after winning the world championship the boxer Benno Deukert is shot in a remote gravel-pit. Not even Marie, his girlfriend can save him anymore when she arrives at the scene just moments later. In the course of investigations the Police Detective Dieter Rehberg runs into Heinz Grosny, Deukert's promoter.
