Hôr is eleven. He flees his war-torn land for Dakar. He is determined not to get mixed up in violence, drugs or prostitution, the daily lot of street children in the big city. His attitude impresses those who cross his path. He meets Tierno and young Désiré, two street children, Malick the blind man, who begs at the same red light; Philippe, the French doctor who treats his old wounds in the humble Pitine dispensary, and lovely Astou, forced into prostitution by the Serpent Gang. Coming into contact with Hôr, they all try to escape the hell of the streets and embrace their dreams. But by trying to preserve his inner flame, Hôr only ends up burning with fever.
