Les Tueurs fous du Brabant
September 27, 1985. 8:15 p.m. Mont-Saint-Pont, Belgium. At the Delhaize supermarket gunfire breaks out. A few minutes after this slaughter, the same men attack another supermarket from the same group in Overijse, in Flanders. That day the death toll is eight. Five weeks pass. A new bloodbath on November 9 in Alost, again in a Delhaize supermarket: eight people are left dead. But that would be the last heard of the mad killers of Brabant-Wallon. In all, 28 people savagely murdered. 28 killings that still haunt the Belgians. 15 years after these events, the official investigation continues. But the identities and motives of these killers remain unknown. Judges and police are in a race against the clock: In 2005, the statute of limitations will go into effect. But no one seriously thinks the inquiry will lead to any revelations.
