Le Voyage de Charlie
Charlie Nowkawalk is an Inuk and works for the preservation of Inuit culture. Faced with the sorry state of the society he lives in, he wants to revive the old spiritual values of his people, in particular shamanism. Unfortunately, in the Canadian arctic, all living traces of this religious and social system have vanished. By chance he has made the acquaintance of Questem Betsa, a Shipibo shaman who lives on the banks of the Ucalayi on the Peruvian-Brazilian border. Questem Betsa has invited him to discover Amazonian shamanism. Charlie accepts. The South American Indian comes to the aid of the Indian of America's Far North. In the Amazon, Charlie is indoctrinated into shamanism. He also wants to learn about Shipibo culture and how that culture was preserved down through the ages and survived the inroads of Western civilization. Thanks to this trip, he hopes to adapt his discoveries to outline a possible future for the Inuits.
