Le Fou de Toungou-témiFoolish Fetish
In the village of Toungou-témi, the head of the fetish-priests, who has appropriated the title Baba lawo, has been enforcing a reign of terror since deciding to regulate social life. Marriage with outsiders is prohibited, which allows him to keep young girls for his followers or for himself. He imposes his law by force and by fear of his mystical powers. When Kerfa, a man from the next town, comes to see his fiancée in Toungou-témi, he witnesses a roundup of children and young girls by Baba Lawo's henchmen. Their victims are sent to a voodoo convent or brought before the grand master himself, who then chooses a husband for them. Kerfa, surprised while spying on Baba lawo, is pursued and is saved by the taximan Koffi. Learning of the situation in Toungou-Témi, Koffi calls on the fetish-priest Baba Woulou, who decides to use his own mystical powers to put an end to Baba lawo's reign of terror.
