Leigh Bowery was a costume/fashion designer, nightclub impresario, performance artist, and musician whose vision influenced many of today's most important artists. His life encapsulated much of the artistic fervor that stirred London in the '80s. He became known to the world at large as the muse and subject of preeminent British painter Lucian Freud. This documentary is an exploration and explosion of Leigh Bowery's outrageous life, a life he lived as a performance. Interview narrative is interspersed with the barrage of stunning visual footage of Leigh and his creations as well as a new footage of Bowery's outrageous friends and collaborators.
