La Faux
Regis Reaper-Quintus, despot of the financial world, struck down in full flight by an incurable disease, returns to the land of his ancestors in the Pyrenees to die there. He turns his death into a media circus, farcical and touching confrontation between the truth of his illness and the media’s lust for sensation. And if Reaper learns how to use the scythe, that’s because it serves as both a pathetic and terrifying prop both to his desire to live and his determination to absurdly show up the follies of the world he must leave. His half-abandoned village becomes the temporary center of the world.
