L'Autopsie d'une catastrophe

The Inside story of the World Trade Center's collapse

The collapse of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center surprised even the specialists. Never had we seen such a tall edifice collapse. Now we have the report: one of the towers gave in because of structural damage caused by the collision, while the other tower seems to have been destroyed by the fire of 30 tons of gas carried by the plane. This documentary reviews the mechanisms at work, the fire protection system and evacuation procedures. It was clear from the start that there could be no survivors in the ruins of the towers themselves. The 110 floors have been reduced to rubble 110 feet thick sitting on top of the rock, 100 feet beneath ground level. The film looks at the technical challenges and the dangers that for several months will slow down the removal of the debris and the recovery of the bodies.
