Board of Honour

In the night of April 26, 1986, a strong explosion shuttered the nuclear power station of Chernobyl, USSR. Accident released highly radioactive emissions into surrounding areas, at least 100 times as much as the two atomic bombs dropped on Japon. Black radioactive dust covered an area of 155 000 km2, home to 7 million people, 3 million of them children. Information about the seriousness of the accident was withheld for weeks, nobody stopped children from playing, exposing themselves to radiation. Now Pripyat is a ghost town. The school was abandoned with hurry. The continuing buzz of a dosimeter tells that the level of radiation in the classroom is still twenty times above the normal level. There are still some photos left on the board of honour. They were the best pupils of the week of the accident. Where are they now ?
