After two years of prison, Silvia Hodgers spent more than 20 years living in Switzerland in “convalescent exile.” This Argentine woman left her country in the years following the military coup of 1976; she had then belonged to an armed guerrilla group. A dance teacher, she put together a show using images of her past which deeply marked her. But, one day, she went one step further, returning to Buenos Aires to visit her former comrades and, most of all, to consider if she could ever go back there to live. Memories merge with the present in this woman’s inner universe. They are harrowing images but they enrich her art and her impressive life force.
