Jean Cocteau cinéaste
Jean Cocteau's cinema is not an easy one, and more than others, it has somewhat aged. Or another way to say it, is that our relationship to cinema has moved away from what it was in that time. This being said, Jean Cocteau's cinematographic work is definitely less hermetic than some of reviews around it. To understand Cocteau's films and to appreciate them, the goal is to return to Cocteau as an individual, to himself. The documentary goes back then to the cultured individual, writer, author, poet who in the early 30's became passionate for the movie art.
