Hassan Massoudy maître calligraphe
Born in Bassora, in southern Irak, Hassan Massoudy arrived in France in the late 60s to study at the School of Fine Arts. He never returned to his homeland. To soothe the pain of exile, he again picked up the kalam, the reed pen of his childhood, in order to resume the practice of the oldest and finest of Muslim arts: calligraphy. The film deals with Massoudy's life and work. A portrait of a creative artist receptive to the world whose work is nurtured by humanism and spirituality.
