Maybe it was the heat, or the fans hanging from every ceiling in the city, but I began to feel like a character in a story by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. There I was in Barrancabermeja, one of the most violent cities in the world, with a group of people threatened with death, protected by bodyguards whose only arms were T-shirts bearing a big logo with the letters PBI on the back.
