Leah, a policewoman, has never pursued anyone with such single-minded determination as Martin. She's convinced he's the lunatic who murdered several women, including her sister. And now she's tracked him down to a secluded mountain cabin where he is hiding out. Just as she trains her gun on him, the cabin door opens and out comes Jan, a physician who's come to spend a romantic weekend with his companion. Before Jan realizes what's going on, a shot rings out, provoking a massive avalanche. The four find themselves trapped in the cabin under a mountain of snow. Handcuffed to Leah, Martin claims that the killer is Jan, and that he was trying to prevent Jan from murdering the young woman. Skeptical, Leah shovels her way out of the cabin with Jan. Gradually, it dawns on Leah that she may be handcuffed to the wrong man.
