Elegie DorogiElegy of a Voyage
A man is inspired by a force greater than himself, and he embarks alone on a voyage. He crosses vast snow-covered spaces, boundaries and a sea to arrive in a foreign country. He chronicles in detail what he sees, those he meets -all that lights his path. In highly-industrialized regions (Germany, Holland?), he is carried away into a steam of traffic. He eventually arrives at the doors of a palace that seems almost abandoned. He enters the empty Boijmans Museum of Rotterdam. In the moonlight, he discovers the goal of his voyage: Peter Saenredam's painting "St. Mary's Square". To his surprise, he himself may have been present when the scene was painted in 17th Century.
