Dominique de Williencourt, le violoncelliste du silence
“Silence only exists if we listen to it.” This utterance by composer and cellist Dominique de Williencourt defines the man, his feeling for silence, grandiose desertscapes. But silence and desert does not mean solitude. Dominique says he’s never alone, that silence is filled with sounds for anyone willing to listen. This strange communion between the musician, the instrument and nature makes up the "Williencourt” sound. In the way he becomes one with the cello, Dominique expands the very notion of concert, and his interpretation of a work is always a new adventure.
