Dive for the Bismarck
In June 2001 an extraordinary expedition set out to make the first ever manned dive to the wreck of the German World War II battleship, the Bismarck. The pride of the German navy was sunk by the British in one of the most significant sea-battles of the war. It lies almost five kilometres below the Atlantic. Using powerful submersibles deployed from the Russian scientific expedition ship Keldysh, the divers relocate the wreck. Cameras on board, allow us to participate directly in these deep-sea dives at the outer limit of technical possibility.
