Two childhood friends, Koni and Djimi, flee their village after a tax collection that gets out of hand. They join the resistance, persuaded that they can carve out a land worthy of a population crushed by injustice. From armed struggle to the struggle of ideas, the gulf widens between them. To bridge it, they must admit that the remedy is often more fatal than the disease.
