Dallas (Roumanie)Dallas (Romania)
The community of two hundred Gypsies of “Dallas” lives by scavenging at the city dump of Cluj-Napoca, the second largest city in Transylvania. The Lacatus are an ordinary Dallas family who work as a team: the father plays the role of captain; the mother is the lieutenant; their eight children form the troupe. The two older brothers, Nicolae (11) and Ciprian (13) are torn between their own desires and what their parents expect of them, a situation they talk about with ironic lucidity. Despite the tensions resulting from this conflict of interests, the two children courageously ensure that the family cell functions, the elder with his strength of character and his brother with his quick wits and good judgment.
