Celui qui croyait
In 1962, Pondichery returned to the Indian Republic. The treaty of transfer allowed those who wished to, to conserve the French nationality. A tiny minority was able to make that choice. Some deliberatly chose to become Indian citizens, the other have been since living in destitution and regrets. Prosper Saint-Joseph was one of those who believed. Because he has fought for over 20 years under the French flag and done all the nasty jobs. Because France was known as "the country of human rights". Prosper Saint-Joseph believed he was French.
