Bill et le Baroque
A musical show, filmed live, during which William Christie and his musicians explain baroque music -his vision of baroque music- to a young audience. During a world tour in March 2001, Christie and his Arts Florissants performed Henry Purcell's "Dido & Aeneas" and Marc-Antoine Charpentier's "Acteon". To do these works, William Christie enjoyed human resources which allow us to approach baroque music from every possible angle. The idea was to explain and illustrate as simply as possible the style, dramatics and ornamentation of Italian, French and English baroque music. The Italian section dealt with madrigals, The English section with "Dido & Aeneas" while "Acteon" illustrated French baroque.
