Valèria is a sculptress on the brink of success but she spurns fame to look after her young child who has been seriously injured in a car accident. The doctors tell her he will never recover. Valèria single-mindedly decides to bring up Eduard so he can still fulfil all the hopes she has for him. Her obsession with the child leads her to sacrifice everything for his sake, including her husband, family and career. Eduard turns out to be her life's work. But unlike her perfect sculptures, he ends up rebelling against his would-be creator. Valèria is based on a true story.
