Old Emma is left by her family and relatives. In a small apartment downtown Copenhagen, she lives on whatever her busy daughter brings her of canned dried food twice a year. Her only company is the bird Hannibal with whom she shares everything. Through the very fragmented view of the letter box, she steals meaningful moments from the fast line of life outside her door. But one day before Easter, Hannibal lies dead in his cage. Emma knows it is a warning about her own future and makes an Easterwish.
