Tu Lou, My Home
Fifty years ago, the family of Wan Shu-lan was so poor that, out of despair, it sold its daughter to a family living in the province of Fujian, in a zone of mud dwellings better known under the name of "tu lou". Since then, this girl's harsh life and the development of her personality have been linked to the destiny of China and the "tu lou". The film relates this unusual story, which few people outside of China have heard.
