Solen er så rød mor

When the Sun Goes Down

A poetic story about loss of illusions, about loneliness and about caring all the wrong ways. In the black and white gloss of childhood, we meet 7-year-old Anders who is going to spend the autumn holidays with his mum at an inn in a provincial town. She leaves him one morning because she has things to do. At a playground nearby, Anders meets a girl of his own age, who invites him to her house to play. But here - of all places in the world - he discovers the truth about his missing father. His mother did not choose this town for their holidays by chance ! Her misguided attempts to protect him from harsh reality fill him with deep loneliness. Nothing will ever be the same again.
