The South of Italy A quasi-third world life in Europe. The voice of three women. Those women fortunate enough to find work as farm labourers have to succumb to more than just long hours and hardships. They are subject to the whim of the "caporale" : an illegal intermediary between the labourers and the farm owners, who exerts his power through moral blackmail or sexual abuse. A quasi-third world situation in the third most economically powerful country in Europe. With a cinéma vérité style and few interviews, this film tells the story of Vita, Teresa and Daniela and their fight to take their lives into their own hands.
